Sentō: Cedar hot tub, sauna and cold plunge

I’m brand new to hosting on Swimply. Feel free to message me if you have any questions or suggestions. I’m happy to share my family backyard spa, with sauna, hot tub and cold plunge! The spa is built with Japanese and Finnish design principles. We use natural materials throughout. The hot tub is made out of western red cedar in the style of Japanese ofuro. The sauna is designed to create optimal löyly (Finnish for the feeling of a sweat wave of steam coming off sauna rocks.) A mechanical ventilation system creates an even heat from feet to head and reduces the common dizzy feeling in saunas that comes from oxygen deprivation. We hand torched the exterior cedar siding using the traditional Japanese shou sugi ban method. If you’re a sauna aficionado, you’ll love this. If you’re not, it may be because you’ve never experienced a proper Finnish sauna. The spa is a shared space. You may run into other guests, our family or friends. Friday and Saturday evenings tend to be peak hours. Mornings and daytime are often empty.
