Big Back Deck Douglasville

Big Back Deck Douglasville was established in 2024 as the realization of a dream to create a staycation haven in our backyard safe from the perils of COVID and traffic. Situated with a pool, 2 palm trees, a moongate, 4 decks, a hot tub, grill, fire pit, and 15” trampoline, we effectively gave our backyard a bbl. The concept was simple. Because we had so much of a slope we suffered from backyardlesness. Creating the concept of deck as a backyard, made us want to make this space available to new guests. In the words of the immortal Mister Rogers, “Won’t you be our neighbor.” The mural painted on the wall of the outside bathroom is of the butter phoenix. The only butterfly with feathers. You see the public beauty, but don’t know the private struggle and transformation story that changed these marvelous creatures into the bird of paradise that you’ll see on both sides of the moongate. The moongate is a portal to paradise.
