Featured in Staycation magazine as one of the top homes in Southern California, this secluded mountain estate boasts pool and spa with views from Catalina Island to the San Gabriel Mountains surrounded by palm trees, five levels of deck and a tropical palapa. Hiking trails a block away. My barber used to boast "People hate us on Yelp". 70% of our guests love us and give us 5 stars. But we have been fortunate enough to run into three Karens, and this has been quite the experience. So here it goes: People hate us on Swimply: One got angry when she realized she didn't get 24/7 access to our $2.5M estate every single day for $250/mo., but when it is available, and wasn't happy even though she got offered full credit for what she had paid. She sent 51 messages. A second one went berserk when we were away from our computer for a full five hours on a day in which we had no rentals. She sent 54 messages without ever visiting the property. She was offered a full refund, but that would not calm her for not getting a 24/7 concierge. The third one was angry that we filed to be reimbursed by Swimply's Host Protection insurance for the ~$5k repair we had to pay to fix the pool equipment that broke down after being used by Swimply guests, so she retaliated by asking for a refund because she claimed that she found three hairs in the sink of the bathroom which we made available to her for free. Instead of being grateful that we offer a free bathroom and don't charge a cleaning fee, she got angry that a previous guest that day left three hairs in the sink. She eventually admitted she was mad because she forgot to book the hot tub heat. So if you're a Karen too, book another pool --or entertain us. But if you're a regular person looking to enjoy our secluded pool and spa with deck, palapa and sweeping views from mountain to ocean, please be our guests.
