About the pool

The town of Fairfax has a reputation as a warm weather retreat for fun and recreation. Located near the top of a hill perched high above central Fairfax, this 10' x 30' solar heated saltwater pool has mesmerizing views of Mt Tam and the surrounding hills and canyons of Fairfax, as well as SF Bay, Berkeley, and Mt Diablo in the distance. For most of the day the pool area has a mix of sunny and tree-shaded areas, so take your pick. It is on the edge of the forest and open space, so relax to the sights and sounds of birds among the trees and flowers. Lots to do in the neighborhood while you are here: plenty of county open space hiking and mountain biking at Camp Tamarancho is just out the back, Santori Winery is across the street (book tastings under amenities).

The pool is about a 5-10 minute drive (1 mile) up a typical Marin winding hillside road from downtown. I'm sure you will find the atmosphere at the top is worth it! A scenic funicular railway went up the hill from 1913-1929...

What makes it special

Heated Pool

Pool is passive solar heated. The water is generally a quite comfortable 86-91 F in the summer. The water temp will start to slowly decrease in the fall. Send a message if you are interested in recent temps.

Furniture, tables, chairs

You are welcome to use the furniture: two reclining loungers, two upright chairs, two outdoor tables and chairs (4, 6 seats), small tables. There is a mix of sun and shade for most of the day. The sun dips below the trees in the late afternoon (~5pm in summer).

Radiant-heat cedar sauna (electric coils with rocks). Two benches accommodate 3 or possibly 4 people total.

There is an outdoor shower (hot/cold) and an indoor shower available. It is Marin County, so please try to conserve water.

Complement your swim with a VIP barrel wine tasting of 8 or more award-winning wines. Personally presented by the winemaker in the wine cellar of the Italian style Villa across the street (santoriwines.com). Message me to setup time. $40/person fee will be credited towards any wine purchases.
